The Journey!
O.M. family, do you know the precursor to all BLESSINGS is preparation. This Sunday is our 20th day preparing for the final day of ADVENT. It is amazing today we light the purple/Angel’s candle, which represents the LOVE of ADVENT.
What greater LOVE is it than when GOD offered up His only son...THAT’S LOVE. The thought that Abraham was willing to offer up his promised son from the loins of Sarah and him THAT’S LOVE.
As we recall all that great LOVE let’s discover the symbolism of the LOVE candle for the fourth week of ADVENT. The LOVE candle is also known as the Angel candle. Before we go further let's pause and review the first three candles we lit and their symbolism to ADVENT and the CHRIST-mas story.
Week One-FAITH/HOPE, The prophecies about the coming Messiah.
Week Two-PEACE, Bethlehem Jesus’ birthplace.
Week Three -JOY, The shepherds who came to see Jesus.
And now Week Four is LOVE.
Imagine angels appearing and singing and proclaiming the good news of Jesus’ birth to the shepherds. THAT’S LOVE. We know that LOVE plays a vital role in the Christmas story. Joseph LOVED Mary so much that he listened and obeyed GOD in a dream. In other words Joseph covered Mary the Virgin mother of our LORD and Savior JESUS CHRIST. THAT’S LOVE. Faith/Hope, Peace, and Joy are outstanding ADVENT virtues but the greatest of all the virtues is LOVE.
Remember:
One of JESUS’ purposes for being on earth was to teach and show LOVE.

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly FATHER,
Thank you in GOD our FATHER for the most wonderful and amazing season of the year. May our love exude within us for mankind like JESUS’ love did for everyone.
