And Abraham called the name of the place, The-Lord-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided.” Genesis 22:14 NKJV
Provision. Who do we think provides everything for us? Is it GOD or ourselves? A lot of people in North America think their high-paying jobs and investments are their provision. Their mindset is “I” if I just plan it and do it, all shall be well. There is a spoiler alert to that sense of thinking. Only GOD can supernaturally provide all is well, and that's the end of the story for everyone.
The name "Jehovah Jireh" is first seen in Genesis 22:14. Abraham discovered GOD does provide all things while he painfully obeyed GOD as he raised his hands to sacrifice his only promised son. He obeyed in the belief that GOD would provide a miracle of some kind, and GOD did – a ram caught in a thicket was his substitute sacrifice. GOD called Abraham’s name and commanded him to stop the sacrifice. Abraham’s faith was tested by GOD, and he passed the test. GOD proved to him at the last moment that He is “JEHOVAH JIREH,” the LORD who will Provide all things.
GOD’s provision for Abraham was not in the context of a new car or money or paying bills. It was in need of a sacrificial ram in the bush. Abraham didn’t know how GOD would provide he just trusted that he would, and GOD did. As Abraham climbed the mountain, he said…”My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering.” What an example of calling those things that be not as thou they were. Trusting GOD to provide. We still live in times when GOD PROVIDES ALL THINGS FOR HIS GLORY AND OUR GOOD. If only we believed by faith through obedience.

There is nothing in this life that we need so much as to do the will of our Father, trusting that He will provide all things. (Philippians 4:19)

Dear Heavenly FATHER,
Thank you for being our all-providing source in the midst of all we need daily. Holy Spirit, us to remember the peace of knowing that GOD is our only ultimate supplier. - Amen, in JESUS' Mighty name.
