SUBJECT: “THE WAIT IS OVER...HAPPY PENTECOST SUNDAY!”

“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.”

Acts 2:1 KJV

“PENTECOST IS THE HOLY SPIRIT’S BIRTHDAY.”

The world says, “nothing just happens.” This is probably one of the truest statements ever made or recorded. Nothing just happens is the same attitude GOD had when He promised the gift of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2:1. “With one accord” was the condition GOD used for the reception of the Holy Spirit. JESUS didn’t tell the disciples and the others to be on one accord. He told them to wait for the Helper to come. (Acts 1:4.)

But, they did more than wait. The eleven disciples and the other one hundred and nine had a shut-in, they fasted and prayed, sang songs of praise, read the scriptures, and waited expectantly for the promise of the Helper to arrive. Their one mind, the same purpose, same focus expedited the Holy Spirit’s arrival.

Oh, if the Christian Church of today and all its modern advancements could come into harmony like the first Christian church. One Christian Church without schism as spoken of in...1 Corinthians 12:25. “so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other."

That was the first Pentecost Sunday scene, a multi-cultural connection at its finest. If all Christian churches celebrated Pentecost Sunday in recognition of it being the gift of the Holy Spirit, it’s GOD’S life, His breath, and His energy in all believers then every Christian church would be a megachurch. Just as it was on the first Pentecost Sunday when three thousand souls were saved.

Celebrating Pentecost Sunday should remind the Christian church that we all have the same unifying Spirit that was poured out upon the first church in Acts 2:1-4. We are co-heirs with Christ. The gift of the Holy Spirit that was promised and given to all believers on the first Pentecost Sunday is the identical PROMISE for you and your children today. May we embrace the drawing power of the Holy Spirit that calls those far off near to Him.

Remember:

"Holy Pentecost Sunday is for all Christian believers to celebrate equally."

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly FATHER,

Thank you for another opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate Holy Pentecost Sunday. May every sincere seeker that's seeking a fresh new refreshing from the Holy Spirit be refreshed. May those seeking the Holy Spirit’s fillings be touched and filled by your powerful anointing. -Amen in JESUS name.

O. M. Nugget:

Food For Thought:

“From the day of Pentecost until the present time, it has been necessary to be of one accord in prayer before the Spirit of God will work with mighty converting power.” -John Mott
