“And by the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested (ceased) on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. So God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it [as His own, that is, set it apart as holy from other days], because in it He rested from all His work which He had created and done.”

Genesis 2:2-3. Amplified Bible

July is more than the middle of the year; it’s the seventh month, and in Scripture, the number 7 speaks of God’s completion, perfection, and rest.

From creation to Revelation, 7 marks GOD’S finished work. Seven days of creation, seven circuits around Jericho, sevenfold forgiveness, seven churches, seven seals. Seven says, “GOD completes what He starts.”

In the Hebrew calendar, the seventh month is a sacred season of trumpets, atonement, and celebration. It calls GOD’S people to wake up, be cleansed, and rejoice in His faithfulness. What does this mean for us today?

Look closely GOD wants to finish something in you. He wants you to bring Him your unfinished goals, prayers, and dreams.

He wants you to trust that He will complete the good work He began in you.

But you must rest it is part of the victory. In a world of burnout, July invites you to pause, to stop, breathe, and declare, “GOD is in control.”

July is a time to initiate forgiveness and prepare for new beginnings. I encourage you to let this be a month to release old wounds, receive GOD’S fresh mercy, and walk lighter in His Grace. And don’t forget to honor and celebrate your mid-year faithfulness. Lastly, take time to count at least seven ways GOD has been good to you in the first half of this year. May this July become a sacred checkpoint in your spirit. Let it be a season where you sense GOD bringing things to completion, deepening your rest in Him, and giving you fresh reasons to Worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.

Remember:

Completion…Trust GOD to finish what He has started.

Cleansing…Invite Him to purify your heart.

Forgiveness…Release what has been weighing you down.

Celebration…Rejoice in His faithfulness.

and Rest…Find peace in His presence, knowing He is in control Amen!

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly FATHER ,

Thank You for walking us through this seventh month to complete what You have begun in us. Please cleanse our hearts, teach us to forgive sincerely, please fill me with Your Holy gratitude, and help us find true rest.
