SUBJECT: “ 7 DAYS UNTIL HOLY PENTECOST: WHAT SHOULD WE EXPECT?”

“And afterwards I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.

Even upon the menservants and upon the maidservants in those days will I pour out My Spirit.” —Joel 2:28-29. Amplified Bible, Classic Edition

As believers prepare for Holy Pentecost, there is a Holy anticipation in the air. Holy Pentecost is not just another date on the Christian calendar. It is a yearly divine appointment that reminds us of GOD’S promised power, and the outpouring of His Holy Spirit. Hear me today…Holy Pentecost is a sacred celebration rooted in both the Old and New Testaments. In the Old Testament, it was known as the Feast of Weeks, a time of thanksgiving and the offering of firstfruits. In the New Testament, it became the day the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples with power, marking the birth of the Church.

As we count down the days to Pentecost, we should not approach it casually. We should expect a supernatural move of GOD, with His voice speaking and renewing His people, just as He did in Acts 2. People of God Holy Pentecost reminds us that GOD still keeps His promises and still fills His people with His Holy Spirit to enable them to do greater works as JESUS said.

The word “Pentecost” means “fiftieth,” because it is celebrated 50 days after Passover or Easter in many Christian traditions. Biblically, it is connected to the Feast of Weeks, a harvest celebration that marked the completion of the grain harvest and the offering of firstfruits to the Lord. Three reasons why we should joyfully expect Holy Pentecost.

First, we should expect Holy Pentecost because GOD is faithful to His Word. The disciples waited in obedience, and GOD responded with supernatural power. And, that same GOD still pours out His Spirit today. Second, we should expect Holy Pentecost because it reminds us that GOD desires to dwell with His people. The wind, fire, and tongues in Acts 2 were not random signs; they showed that GOD was present and active among His people. Third, we should expect Holy Pentecost because it calls us to renewal. It is a time to confess, repent, and Pray. A new time to prepare our hearts for fresh empowerment from GOD.

Remember:

Holy Pentecost is a Holy celebration of GOD’S divine presence, divine power, and divine mission in the Body of Christ.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly FATHER ,

Thank You for giving us the gift of Holy Pentecost. Help us prepare our hearts during the next 7 days to receive Your Holy Spirit in a new, fresh way. Help us to look forward to more power, renewed faith, and become more bold to witness of Your promise.

- In Jesus name, Amen.
