SUBJECT: “NEW LEARNING ABOUT LENT”

“He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” -Revelation 21:5a NIV

The Lenten Season is a time of preparation and also a time of “NEW DISCOVERIES.” 2 Timothy 2:15(KJV) says. “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” This passage should motivate all Christians to study and learn more about the Lenten season. As I studied deeper, I DISCOVERED that Lent has three more pillars called the 3 R’s. Reflection, Repentance, and Reconciliation. The 3 R’s of Lent help you to see Yourself in a very Spiritual and transparent way.

Spiritual reflection is a deep and thoughtful examination of our lives. Keenly examining your shortcomings. It allows you to ask yourself those hard questions like…Am I judgmental? Do I obey GOD wholly? Do I love people as GOD commanded me to love them? And am I true to GOD in all my ways?

Once you reflect, comes the second R of Lent. Repentance. True reflecting leads a contrite heart to confess your faults. Then repentance will always point one to seek GOD’s divine forgiveness. Sincere repentance from the heart opens the door to immediate reconciliation with GOD.

Reconciliation is a powerful means of reconciling with GOD when you choose the broad way of life. After complete reconciliation has come, the Joy of the LORD becomes your saving Grace. Your life changes from feeling defeated to a victorious OVERCOMER.

Remember:

GOD is always willing to welcome us back with open arms because He said, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” -Hebrews 13:5. KJV.

Prayer:

Thank you. We give you all the Glory for the constant new learning for your dear children. May we remember that Lent is a moment of graceful reconciliation, repentance, and reconciliation. Please help us never to waste such precious and amazing grace but to capitalize on it. -In Jesus's Name, Amen.
