" Take care and be on guard for yourselves and for the whole flock over which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as overseers, to shepherd (tend, feed, guide) the church of God which He bought with His own blood.”
~Acts 20:28. Amplified Bible

The classrooms are ready…
The desks have been arranged… The lesson plans have been prepared… The bulletin boards are decorated… The school supplies have been purchased… The daily schedules have been finalized…
ARE THE SHEPHERDS COVERD IN THE SCHOOLS?
As our children enter the classrooms, it is imperative and essential to remember the teachers, administrators, counselors, principals, school nurse, librarian, bus drivers, coaches, cafeteria staff, custodians, and every staff member who has been entrusted to shepherd over all the children.
TEACHERS do more than teach lessons. They influence minds, shape character, recognize changes in behavior, speak words that can build or break confidence, and sometimes become the first person to notice that a child is struggling.
ADMINISTRATORS do more than manage schools. They carry the weight of decisions, discipline, safety, staff concerns, families, and the overall well-being of the school community. These are some of the Shepherds assignments and they need covering. By who? The Church, parents, grandparent’s, Godparent’s, guardians and Intercessory Prayer Warriors.
Acts 20:28 reminds us that before the shepherd (teacher and others) watches over the flock (all the children) they must also take heed to themselves.
Our teachers and support staff need prayer.
They need wisdom when the classroom/school becomes challenging.
They need patience when they are exhausted.
They need discernment to recognize what cannot be seen with natural eyes.
They need strength when the demands of the day become overwhelming.
They need compassion when a child is difficult to reach.
They need courage to stand for what is right.
And they need GOD’S protection as they step into an assignment that can impact a child’s life far beyond one school year.
We must also Pray for those sitting in the superintendent’s office, principal's office and others serving in administrative leadership.
We must Pray that GOD gives them wisdom beyond their experience, discernment beyond what is visible and strong courage to make righteous decision.
So that they can lead without frustration, fear, or pressure, but from wisdom, integrity, compassion, and truth.
Imagine what could happen if teachers walked into their classrooms each morning knowing that parents were Praying for them. Praying for their mind, for their emotions, for their families, for their classrooms, for their decisions they have to make, and Praying that they will recognize the child who needs encouragement, the child who needs intervention, and the child who simply needs someone to believe in them. Teachers are not just entering the classroom they are entering a professional warfare zone with expectations and not very much support form parents and their supervisors.
Question: Who’s going to answer the “CLARION CALL” TO PRAY FOR THE SCHOOL SHEPHERDS”
Let us Pray for the Teacher-Shepherds who will stand before all the children that before the first bell rings, we will be Praying for them, administrators, staff members, and over every classroom, every desk, every entrance door, every hallway, very office, every school bus, every playground, every cafeteria.
Remember:
We are not just sending our children in the schools to be in attendance but we are trusting them to be in the environment to filled with Shepherds who need GOD’S courage, strength, protection and wisdom. Because sometimes the greatest protection we can provide for the children is to pray for the Shepherds GOD has positioned to lead them.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly FATHER ,
Thank You for the clarion call to Pray for all the Shepherd Adults who will stand before and over all the children. May Your Holy Will caring love and protection be the anchors on every school campus.
- In Jesus Holy name Amen.
