SUBJECT: “WAITING BEFORE…THE PROMISE OF PENTECOST IN EXPECTATION.”

“And suddenly a sound came from heaven like a rushing violent wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.” Acts 2:2 (Amplified Bible)

There are moments when heaven doesn’t whisper it ROARS.

Acts chapter 2 opens with an atmosphere unlike anything the disciples had ever experienced. They were gathered together, waiting in divine obedience. Then suddenly, everything changed. And the Bible says…

"Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting." Acts 2:2.

It was not a gentle breeze, but a strong spiritual tornado wind.

It was a loud sound from heaven breaking into the earth realm.

It was so loud and strong that it alarmed even the spectators below the upper room. It was impossible to ignore. The wind announced what GOD has promised invading their waiting room. It moved the stillness in the room, shocked those who were waiting and signalled that a divine uncontrollable, supernatural happening had arrived. While all eyes were in awe the HOLY FIRE came. Acts 2:3 says…

“They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them."

Fire in Scripture often represents GOD’S Holy presence in power and purification. The Holy Fire from heaven didn’t stay distant. It rested on each person in the upper room. Not just the leaders all 120 of them.

Every believer in that room was anointed by GOD’S presence.

Sometimes we look for God in the quiet, and He is there. But other times, He comes like a rushing wind: disrupting, awakening, igniting something new within us. This is one of the beauties of Pentecost, GOD didn’t just visit the place He filled the people with His precious Holy Spirit. Acts 2:4 says…

"All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them."

The Holy Spirit didn’t come quietly either He came with loud sound, with fire, and with transformation. The disciples who had once hidden in fear were now being filled with boldness. The sound from Heaven became their voice.

The strong wind reminds us that GOD moves in ways we cannot control. The fire reminds us that GOD tattoos those He fills.and the Spirit reminds us that we are never meant to live a powerless life.

Remember:

the promise of Pentecost is not just an event to remember it is a reality to receive.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly FATHER ,

Thank you for being the dependable Promis keeper. May the sound of heaven awaken our spiritual heart so that the fire of Your presence refines us wholly. May Your power flow through us and make us sensitive to Your presence within us. - In Jesus name, Amen.

Food For Thought:

“Pentecost came with the sound of a mighty rushing wind, a violent blast from heaven! Heaven has not exhausted its blasts, but our danger is we are getting frightened of them.”
