"For unto us a child is born, unto us, a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6 KJV
Beloved O Ministries Inc. Family,
An apology is necessary. In our Sunday, November 27, 2022, post, I inadvertently left out that it was the first week of the Advent season, the theme was “HOPE,” and Isaiah 9 was our holy scripture. Hope is assurance, a trust placed in our trustworthy GOD.
Advent sheds light on what the Israelites experienced in the Old Testament. They desired a Messiah to save them from their physical enemies, but their spiritual enemy of sin needed a Messiah. The living GOD, who did not fail us in the past, assures us we count on Him to keep all His promises for the future.
Week 2: Peace 12/4-12/10
This week the Advent theme is “PEACE.” JESUS, the prophesied Messiah, is the greatest peacemaker ever. He is the Prince of Peace. Although, the Israelite’s interpretation of the coming Messiah’s Peace would be a savior who rescued them from the ironclad hands of the Romans. But that was not JESUS’ plan. Even though He talked about Peace in His sermon on the Mount. (Matthew 5:9)
He also said He did not come to bring Peace to the world, but he would divide people. (Matthew 10:34-36). And, at the Last Supper, JESUS’ told his disciples, “Peace I leave with you; my Peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not be afraid.” JESUS’ Peace was the inner comfort of being connected to Him. And so it is today our Peace is worshipping JESUS as the sacrificial lamb that died for all of humanity’s sins.
Remember:
Everyone who believes in JESUS’ divinity and resurrection has Peace with GOD, their sins are forgiven, and they gain eternal life.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly FATHER,
Thank you for helping us realize that our Peace is ultimately found in you. Help us to see the times when we have lived without Peace and forgive us for our transgressions. Holy Spirit, please help us to remember that JESUS is the Prince of Peace, and our security comes from Him alone.-Amen, in JESUS' name.

Food For Thought:
“The Christmas message is that there is hope for a ruined humanity–hope of pardon, hope of peace with God, hope of glory–because at the Father’s will Jesus became poor, and was born in a stable so that thirty years later He might hang on a cross.” -J.I. Packer
