Day 44 of 61 Expanded

Beloved Family,

There is a kind of stillness that is more than the absence of noise. It is the quiet surrender of a heart that remembers who GOD is. In Psalm 46, GOD does not simply invite us to be still; He commands it. He does not do it to silence us, but to ANCHOR us. GOD intent is not to weaken us, but to STEADY us in His strength. We live in such fast lanes and rarely take time to slow down on our own. Our thoughts are constantly racing, our worries multiply, and our souls become crowded with questions GOD never asked us to carry. BUT because of GOD’S great caring love in the middle of all chaos, GOD speaks a simple, transforming word: “Be still.”

To “Be Still” is to pause over a working mind and refocus on GOD who holds all things together. After being still comes the KNOWING.

Knowing GOD is not just facts about Him, but recognizing and understanding His character.  

He is faithful when the world feels unstable. 
He is present when our hearts feel overwhelmed. 
He is in control when everything else feels uncertain.

GOD promises that His GLORY will not be hidden. Even when His nation of people shakes and the earth trembles, GOD will be exalted. There is nothing that can stop the unfolding of GOD’S plans. And, nothing can remove His hand from your life.

Remember:

GOD invites His dear children to step out of striving and into His Holy stillness. Now, the noise around you fades for a moment. Breathe deeply. Listen. Rest in the truth that He is GOD and you are held by Him.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly FATHER,

Thank you for being the Peace in our stillness before you. May the Holy Spirit teach us how to deepen our stillness so that we can see in the spirit and recognize your deep-seated love for us.In JESUS' matchless and holy name, Amen.
