“After you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.” - 1 Peter 5:10
The name of a Church is where you place your membership. It becomes your spiritual family and your spiritual haven. However, often, it clashes with covering the Body of Christ. Instead, it hurts the Body of Christ with emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical pain. Church Hurt is one of the most painful pains one can experience. Because it is usually caused by the Pastor, pastor’s wife, jealous co-members, or any other person who serves in church leadership, this level of pain and resistance can be horrifying. The church is supposed to be your haven, the place where you love, protect, and respect one another. It is not the place where you would expect to get some sucker punches.
Unfortunately, “church hurt” has been around since the beginning of the church. Down through the years, it has become progressively worse. Why? I do not have the exact answer, but it could be a lack of genuine Love for one another. 1 Corinthians 13:4- 8a. Says…”Love is patient; love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. Perhaps if church leaders and members sincerely abided by God's organic Love, church hurt would be a thing of the past.
Until church hurt is eradicated by the Authority, Power, and Dominion of GOD’s Holy Spirit, be mindful that the enemy’s job is to kill, steal, and destroy GOD’s people. I beseech you to leave room open in your heart for GOD to heal you. If you trust GOD, He will turn your hurt and pain into good for His Glory and your good. Jumping and leaving after a hurt is not always the answer. Pray and seek GOD’s wisdom and discernment first. Don’t forget GOD’s people are not perfect, but we are loved by Him, and He expects us to operate in Love like JESUS did.
Remember:
The CHURCH is GOD’s Body of Christ that He Loves and desires to be unified in Him for His Glory in the lives of His dear children.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly FATHER,
Thank you for hearing and seeing church hurt. We trust you to judge the unrighteous and vindicate your innocent people. May the healing power of your Love be the anchor that keeps your church alive and well. In Your Matchless Name, Jesus, Amen.
