SUBJECT: “GOD IS WHISTLING...CALLING HIS PEOPLE BACK TO HIM.”

“He lifts up a banner for the distant nations, he whistles for those at the ends of the earth. Here they come, swiftly and speedily!” —Isaiah 5:26

“Whistle for Willie” by Ezra Jack Keats is one of my favorite children’s stories. Peter, the main character, wants to learn how to whistle for his dog, but finds it impossible because he cannot whistle. After he starts practicing, he eventually learns how to whistle for his dog named Willie. It’s a beautiful story depicting how animals know the sounds in the voice of their owner. John 10:27 says, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” As dear children of GOD, when we hear the sound of GOD’S whistle, we should immediately come running to GOD, just as Peter’s dog Willie did to him.

There’s something unmistakable about a sound meant only for you. And only you know the sound. It is the cutting edge through confusion; it grabs your attention and calls you to respond. Our Holy GOD is still…speaking today. HE IS WHISTLING FOR US TO RETURN TO HIM. He still calls. Sometimes it’s a whisper. Sometimes it's through Scripture, sometimes through circumstances, and sometimes it’s through a Prophet. But when it comes from GOD, it feels just like a sharp whistle that tingles your inner ear. It is a very clear call that you hear when you're wandering, distracted, or lost. GOD WHISTLE IS UNIQUE AND VERY DISTINCT.

It is loaded with a supernatural sound that stops you in your tracks. Let’s be honest, the world is noisy. We’ve got news, notifications, opinions, temptations, stress, anxiety… It's like spiritual static. And in all that noise, it’s easy to tune out the very voice we need to hear the most. The divine voice of GOD. It is He who is whistling at us to get our attention as he calls us back to Himself. Are you listening? Can you hear GOD whistling in a small, still, supernatural sound?

WARNING…please do not get so immersed in other sounds that you don’t hear GOD whistling at you.

Remember:

GOD called Jonah, but Jonah ran. But when Holy GOD “whistled” louder at Jonah with a storm, with a fish, and with a second chance. Jonah heard Him loud and clear and responded with a “Yes, LORD” I will obey.

Dear Heavenly FATHER,

Thank you for being a loud, powerful, strong, and clear whistling GOD in the lives of your dear children. May we not ignore your thundering voice calling us back to you, now? -Amen, in JESUS' Matchless name.
