“Cast your burden on the Lord [release it] and He will sustain and uphold you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken (slip, fall, fail).” -Psalm 55:22 AMP

Day 16 of the 61-day end-of-the-year devotional expanded. The valley is the low place where Prayer, Praise, and Worship are a strain to muster up. But, if we just do what the Word of GOD commands us to do we get what it says even in the valley. Hallelujah! 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, “In every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.”
No matter how deep or wide the valley is, GOD’S Word says thank Me for EVERYTHING. Gratitude in the Valley. JESUS. Gratitude is easy on the mountaintop, when life feels full and light. But true gratitude is forged in the valley, when shadows stretch long and tears fall heavy. Truly, it’s in the low valley, the low places, that thanksgiving becomes an act of faith, and not feelings.
In the valley, gratitude says, “God, You are still good.” It whispers Prayer, Praise, and Worship. Those three components help our aching heart during the time that GOD walks closer to us. When we choose gratitude in the valley, we trade despair for trust. We resolve that the same GOD who leads us beside still waters is the One who restores our souls when the path is dark and narrow. So today, let your gratitude rise not because everything is perfect, but because GOD’S presence is ever present.

Food For Thought:
“We can choose to know that we need God wherever we are, and that can make all of the difference. But, if you find yourself in a valley today, take heart, the beauty is in all of the details of the journey and the perseverance comes from the One who always walks with you. You never travel alone." — Wendy at Graceful Gaines
