"I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:" Matthew 3:11 KJV.
John the Baptist was a Forerunner. He was the one GOD chose to be the PRECURSOR before JESUS launched His brief, full-time, three-year Ministry. A Precursor is a forerunner, a person coming before another of the same kind. But a PRECURSOR in the world of GOD means a Prophetic, Holy person who announces the approach of something important. JESUS and John the Baptist were Prophetic mouthpieces for God.
They were not appointed, chosen, or sent by man but by GOD to make important announcements. They made announcements of what was coming later. John the Baptist said a one was coming to deliver, heal, and save. He said He would be more MIGHTY…more HOLIER…and more ANOINTED to baptize with POWER and FIRE of the Holy Ghost. John the Baptist was a Proverbs 18:12 Forerunner. It says, "Haughtiness goes before destruction; humility precedes honor." John the Baptist allowed GOD to decease him so that GOD could anoint him to be the consecrated mouthpiece to announce the coming of our Lord and Savior, JESUS CHRIST.
John the Baptist's "Forerunner's Anointing" was so powerful that he knew "The One" was coming with all power and authority to rule in Dominion and Authority. John the Baptist was so in touch with GOD that he knew without a doubt that he was chosen by GOD to deliver an everlasting Prophetic Message.
Question: Are you a forerunner? Can GOD trust you to be a PRECURSOR for Him?
Remember:
Only the humble ones can be used to announce Prophetic messages about GOD speaking. Hallelujah!
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly FATHER,
Thank you, thank you, thank you for sounding the forerunner's alarm. I call on the sweet Holy Spirit to help the Body of Christ to listen carefully for the Precursor's call and obey to serve quickly. -In Your Matchless Name, Jesus, Amen.
