SUBJECT: “WHY IS JESUS’s TOMB EMPTY?”

“Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!” John 20:1-2. NIV

PROPHETIC PROPHECY has GOD’S gold seal of “SURELY.” Every Word JESUS spoke was backed up by His Holy Father, GOD. JESUS prophesied that in 3 days He will rise from the dead. In Matthew 12:40, NIV. JESUS said…“For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” Jonah wasn’t dead in the fish, but He came out of the fish. However, JESUS died. He gave His life up on the cross. They removed His lifeless body from the cross, embalmed it, and laid it to rest forever.

But, the Prophecy of “in 3 days” had to be fulfilled, and only JESUS could do it. JESUS rose from the dead, and that is why His Tomb was empty. HE GOT UP! JESUS got up and walked out of His borrowed tomb and fulfilled His Prophetic Prophecy “IN 3 DAYS.” Hallelujah and Amen.

Remember:

The empty tomb is seen as evidence of JESUS' resurrection.

Prayer:

Thank you for sending your only begotten Son, JESUS, to be our LORD and SAVIOR for our eternal life after death. - In His Holy name, Amen.

O. M. Nugget:

“THE TOMB WAS EMPTY…BUT JESUS IS ALIVE!”

Expository Study:

  • Luke 24:1-12

Food For Thought:

“No tabloid will ever print the startling news that the mummified body of Jesus of Nazareth has been discovered in old Jerusalem. Christians have no carefully embalmed body enclosed in a glass case to worship. Thank God, we have an empty tomb. The glorious fact that the empty tomb proclaims to us is that life for us does not stop when death comes. Death is not a wall, but a door.”-Peter Marshall
