SUBJECT: “ALMSGIVING ANOTHER PILLAR FOR LENT.”

“But when you give to the poor and do acts of kindness, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing [give in complete secrecy], so that your charitable acts will be done in secret; and your Father who sees [what is done] in secret will reward you.” Matthew 6:3-4. Amplified

The season of Lent just keeps on GIVING US MORE SPIRITUAL INSIGHT. Almsgiving is the act of donating money, food, or other items to people in need of them, especially as a spiritual practice. In other words, Almsgiving is a daily lifestyle. In Matthew 22:37–39, JESUS gives the definition that sums up the purpose and reason to practice ALMSGIVING.

“And he said to him, 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great first commandment. And a second is like it; You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' Giving and sharing is GOD’S preplanned purpose and will for His people to obey His Holy Word. The exercise of Almsgiving lets humanity see itself and others as GOD sees them.

In an equal justice and deserving of fair and just treatment manner. As Jesus calls us closer to Him during the Lenten Season by way of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving, let your giving of alms be felt in the hearts of those you show love and kindness to. Let’s all move to a higher Spiritual place and let the Lenten Season change us into a daily Almsgiving Giver. How? By way of sharing our overflow of money, sacrificial time, and Spiritual gifts daily that GOD has imputed in You.

Remember:

Almsgiving is an expected way of life from the eyes of GOD.

Prayer:

Thank you for all the abundant Blessings you have given us to share with others. Please help us to be mindful of the needs of others. Help us, Father, to show lovingkindness and compassion to those less fortunate than we are. May our Almsgiving be from a joyful heart as a witness of your love in us. -In Jesus's Name, Amen.
