SUBJECT: “BE STEADFAST”

“Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord [always doing your best and doing more than is needed], being continually aware that your labor [even to the point of exhaustion] in the Lord is not futile nor wasted [it is never without purpose].”

~1 Corinthians 15:58. Amplified Bible

When GOD says to be STEADFAST…

Don’t You Move.

Don’t move because the ground beneath you is always steady. Don’t move because life is painless, predictable, or fair. But you don’t move because the Holy One holds you is steady. When GOD says be STEADFAST, He reminds us to listen and obey Him quickly. He wants you to Stay your Stand.

Our big brother Apostle Paul closes his great chapter on the resurrection in agreement with GOD's plan, purpose, and will. Apostle Paul’s remaining steady charge still lands with force today: “Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord [always doing your best and doing more than is needed], being continually aware that your labor [even to the point of exhaustion] in the Lord is not futile nor wasted [it is never without purpose].”

~1 Corinthians 15:58 Amplified Bible

The word therefore” matters. The Apostle Paul spent an entire chapter reminding the church that JESUS rose from the dead, and because He rose, His people will rise too if they remain STEADY. So when Paul says, “stand firm,” he is not asking us to pretend we are unshaken. He is calling us to anchor our lives in the unshakable PEACE of GOD.

Steadfast Is Not Stubborn…Steadfast does not mean refusing to feel pain, grief, doubt, or exhaustion. It means refusing to let those things happening at the moment redefine GOD’S true Word. You can be steadfast with tears in your eyes while you wait. You can be steadfast when the answer to your Prayers has not come and even when you feel weak. Steadfastness is not the absence of pressure. It is be Steady in GOD in the middle of what you are going through.

Apostle Paul’s words are direct, “Let nothing move you.”

Not fear, not criticism, not delay, not disappointment, not the opinions of people and not even your own failures. Be aware there will always be those demonic voices telling you to quit, compromise, panic, or abandon what GOD has called you to do.

But, DON’T MOVE. Just keep doing the work of the LORD, keep serving, keep loving, keep forgiving, keep showing up, and keep planting seeds even when the harvest is slow to manifest.

Remember. . . The reason you don’t move is that “your labor in the LORD is not in vain.” What you do for the Glory of GOD in JESUS' name is never wasted. The encouragement you gave, the Prayers you prayed, the silent act of obedience no one noticed, GOD saw it, remembers it, and He will use it for His Glory.

~ Dear Heavenly FATHER,

Thank you for sounding the alarm to be steadfast. May the Holy Spirit help us to be obedient to the commands of GOD, remain steadfast in Prayer, unmovable in our Faith, and faithful in the work of the LORD. In JESUS’ Holy Name. Amen.

~Food For Thought:

“As you struggle through whatever you are going through remember there is help somewhere someone out there has solutions, and you will stumble upon them when you take action to break away from the old and have a steadfast bold approach towards the new.”
